Montesol Experimental Ibiza – A Favorite for Families in Ibiza Town

The hotel occupies a neo-colonial building in the heart of Ibiza's historic centre and houses 33 rooms. Each room was decorated by interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán in a colonial style, with air conditioning, a wardrobe, a desk, and a safety deposit box. All standard rooms have privacy glass across the windows, limiting outside views, while upgraded rooms like room 101 on the corner offer a small terrace and larger windows.

Breakfast is served à la carte on the pedestrian Passeig de Vara de Rey street, with dishes like eggs benedict and a breakfast bap. The rooftop bar offers views of Dalt Vila and the marina, serving cocktails such as a black Russian and a tick-tock-toe, though the rooftop is closed from October to April. Dinner at the Mediterranean restaurant includes tagliolini and other seasonal dishes, with a separate, smaller sushi menu available on the rooftop.

Montesol Experimental Ibiza is steps from the harbour and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Dalt Vila, with ferries to Formentera departing from a pier a 5-minute walk away. The taxi rank sits directly across the street, and shops, restaurants, and bars are within a few metres. Valet parking is offered for 25 euros plus VAT per day, and free public parking is available at Parquing Es Gorg, a 10-12 minute walk from the hotel.

The hotel provides a 24-hour front desk, concierge service, daily housekeeping, and a tour desk for booking local experiences. Laundry, dry cleaning, and ironing are available, and luggage storage is offered with the caveat that staff are not responsible for stored items. Transportation includes airport shuttle, car hire, and valet parking, while families can borrow board games and puzzles.

The hotel has no swimming pool, no gym, and no common lobby area - the reception is a narrow space. Standard room windows are fitted with privacy glass that prevents guests from seeing outside, and balconies on upgraded rooms are blocked off so guests cannot step onto them. Street noise from cleaning crews and bin collection begins around 7:00 am daily, particularly on the Vara de Rey side, and the rooftop is closed for the season from October through April.
